Dr Kimberly Dienes
Stress and Relationship Therapy
I use evidence-based strategies to help you reduce stress, lift your mood, and shift unhelpful patterns in your relationships. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology and previously worked as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the U.S. Throughout my internship, postdoc, private practice, and years of teaching and supervision, I’ve supported hundreds of clients and students.

Patterns in our behaviours and our relationships form and are repeated throughout our lifetime. They can be hard to understand and change because they are so ingrained. We can feel stuck in these patterns, especially when they cause us pain. My goal is to help people identify and understand their patterns and, through treatment, learn to change them.

My Services
I offer individual and couples therapy using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Time Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy, and Integrative Behavioural Couples Therapy (IBCT). My sessions are online or in person . During the initial session I will ask you questions about your problems, goals, barriers, and supports to help understand how we can achieve those goals.

About Me
I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from UCLA after completing my BA and MA at Stanford University. I opened my private practice in Chicago in 2010 as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and also served as Director of the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program at Roosevelt University. My research (see below for my curriculum vitae) is focused on how stress gets under the skin to influence our mental and physical health.

In 2016, I moved to the UK, where I’ve been teaching and training master’s students in clinical psychology at the University of Manchester and Swansea University.

I have thousands of hours of experience working with individuals and couples using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Integrative Behavioural Couples Therapy (IBCT), and Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP). I specialize in stress reduction and burnout, relationship difficulties, complex trauma, depression, and anxiety.
